The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour are a psychedelic funk pop band from Copenhagan, Denmark and have burst onto the world stage of late with placement in some of the hottest places on the airwaves. Led by Mette Lindburg on vocals and Lars Iverson as producer on the recordings, The Asteroids expand into a six-piece band on the road. They are known for their energetic live shows that never disappoint, and their well orchestrated recordings that showcase writing and production prowess.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour blew up in 2008 when their song, "Around the Bend," was chosen for a new Apple iPod Touch commercial and blasted worldwide in the ensuing international campaign. Since then they’ve also found their songs tapped for shows such as CSI, Chuck, and Gossip Girl. This level of success was all from an album written, recorded, and produced right in Iverson’s small home studio and released on their own Small Giants Records. The album, Fruit, shows off the bands talent to power out a seemingly huge production while remaining home grown.

Their first live show was played before a large audience where they opened up for Amy Winehouse during her Copenhagen show. Since then, The Asteroids have gone one to support Katy Perry on her US tour as well as find themselves at venues and music festivals all over the world.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour show a lot of old school influences in their new, fresh sound. They are able to weave together a tapestry of vocal, bass, drums, wind, and keys into the production of music that captures the listener’s attention even as it elicits a casual toe tap or head nod before causing the audience to burst into motion. The band has come a long way in a short time, either burning their candle at both ends or more likely, showing just the tip of a very large iceberg.
