Brooke Waggoner

Brooke Waggoner

By: Tim Roberson

Brooke Waggoner is an artist that is immediately ear catching. Her voice is silky smooth, deceptively powerful, and lightly accented always by her versatile piano. Her seventeen years of classical training are evident in the way her songs are formed in the string arrangements, piano accentuations, and steady rhythms.

Waggoner graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Music Composition and Orchestration, culminating her years of classical training and hard work. Soon after putting diploma in hand, she made her way to Nashville. There she began developing the song craft that has become her signature mark, a mix of piano ballad pop and classical music that leans heavily on her background.

In 2009, Waggoner released her sophomore album, Go Easy Little Doves, advancing her grasp of popular music and introducing that genre to a heavier classical influence with piano and string arrangement coupled with her powerful and graceful voice. Her freshman release, Heal for the Honey, was critically lauded and well received.

Waggoner closed out the 2008 South by Southwest festival and went on to tour with Owl City in 2009. She has garnered national attention with her music's placement on the ABC Family show, Kyle XY. Waggoner calls Nashville home now, but tours nationally as her reputation for incredibly well crafted music continues to grow.
