OBLiO

Oblio

By: Tim Roberson

The Nashville trio of Oblio started out across the country and were brought together in the heart of the Music City. Terry Price, Travis Vance, and Ben Dumas sync in perfect pop/rock goodness. Price's soothingly powerful voice and his stellar guitar work coupled with the rhythm section of Vance and Dumas lend their music to much of the diverse influences that have helped them create their unique style.

Formed in 2004, Oblio has broken new ground year after year, touring relentlessly and spreading the Oblio gospel. Their live performance is most assuredly something to watch as Price rips the guitar and vocals, Vance juggles bumping bass and keys, while Dumas pounds his skins like they owe him money. The talk about this band in the southeast led to an invitation to Next BIG Nashville hosted in Athens, GA where the guys shared a bill at the sold out 40 Watt Club. The band has also opened for bands such as Camera Obscura and Chairlift.

In August of 2009, Oblio self-released their latest effort, Tonight You're Gonna Be A Revelation with producer Neilson Hubbard. The album captures the thrill and energy of their live performances while utilizing the ability to create multiple layers of  sound. "A Story of Nashville," a track from the album, was featured in a well known national publication for the month of February, 2010.

Oblio continues to set a high bar for themselves with almost non-stop touring and an overwhelming dedication to their career and their craft. They tour all throughout the Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast regularly, so be sure to catch this band on the rise whenever possible.
