Parachute Musical

Parachute Musical

By: Tim Roberson

In 2003, Parachute Musical was born out of the collaboration of DC natives Josh Foster, Tom Gilbert, and Ben Jacoby. It was then that they began to work their magic, honing their craft and building the classically stylistic compositions that are at the same time beautiful, compelling and original. Foster's piano driven hooks and the artistic guitar work from Gilbert, backed by a solid rhythm section composed of Jacoby on drums and Nashville native Andrew Samples on bass, give the quartet a great sound that is highly energetic, soulful, and absolutely well crafted.

The band makes its home in Nashville, where they landed just before their sophomore release, Everything is Working Out Fine in Some Town. From there they began a coast to coast blitz, touring relentlessly for two years and building a loyal following of new fans as they went. The band's slick sound and their ability to be accessible no matter the mood, connects them with their listeners. No matter the situation, Foster's lyrics about love and life coupled with the honed pacing will grab the emotions and attentions of any audience.

For Everything is Working Out, the band collaborated with Nashvillian producer Derek Garten, who helped them reach a new level of craftsmanship and also produced their newest single, "No Comfort." The new songs are a step forward for the band, with Foster admittedly loosening his musical reins a bit, the band shines through with their synergy and collaborative magic. The lyrics remain compelling as they touch on Foster's personal life from every angle, and the music sours and dips with the crashing emotions. With a work ethic that is readily evident in their tight sounds and touring schedule, the guys from Parachute Musical are looking at a bright future ahead.
