Pico vs Island Trees
Pico vs Island Trees
The guys of Pico vs Island Trees have had a long road already in the music business even at their young age. Starting as a collaboration between Jeremy Bullock and Bryan Carter while they were still in high school. Their unique name comes from an incident in their history class, and from there Pico vs Island Trees was born and continues.
They are a quintessential and unabashedly pop band, putting their influences center stage as they groove and move along. Carter's vocals are sweet and strong, slipping up and down the chart as Bullock's guitar rings out the chords and the scales. Recording their first album while still in high school, Bullock and Carter soon found themselves separated by college. But not even higher education could keep them from rejoining to move out to sunny California to record their first professional album. A long time and several interesting stories later, the album never materialized and the guys were back to square one.
Carter and Bullock regrouped and headed for Nashville, where they finally recorded what can be considered their freshman effort, Futura. Its a mini-record of sorts that showcases the bands chops, the talent that Bullock and Carter and everyone else always knew they had, and the influences of their diverse musical tastes.
Although their path started years ago in their high school history class, the road is only just beginning. As each journey begins with a single step, Pico vs Island Tress have jumped out far with their effort and the tough touring schedule they've prepared for the spring and summer. Their perseverance in the face of the many set backs speak to their strength of character and their musical talent speaks to… well… their musical talent.
